For decades, Falk couplings have been the standard in industrial power transmission equipment. In fact, with its reputation for durability and proven performance, Falk’s Steelflex coupling has become the most commonly sought after grid coupling in North America,
The Steelflex Falk coupling is made of a high-strength steel alloy tempered to spring hardness to combine maximum strength and shock absorption. Available in a full spectrum of torque, speed and bore capacities, these Falk couplings are designed for easy installation and maintenance.
Notable features of the Steelflex Falk coupling include:
Modular parts. Steelflex couplings can be adapted for a wide variety of applications by merely switching out a few basic components. For example, a close coupled design can be converted into a full spacer by replacing its standard hubs with shaft and spacer hubs. This modular design allows facilities to reduce their inventory of needed spare parts.
Replace-in-place design. There’s no need to move hubs or realign shafts when repairing or replacing a Falk coupling. The replace-in-place design reduces the amount of time it takes to change out couplings – which in turn reduces downtime.
Shock load absorption. The grid design of the Steelflex coupling provides top-notch vibration dampening and can diminish peak torque loads by up to 30 percent, which helps limits wear and tear on connected equipment.
